Small Town America

photo: Melissa Stoerkel

It is so easy to forget your roots. But where else can Grandpa hitch a ride, circus style, feeling the breeze ruffle his silvery locks? No taxis beeping. No jackhammers crushing asphalt. No rushing. Just the sun on your back and "supper" about to be served. Tempting....for a minute.

  1. reminds me so much of where I grew up, in a very small town in upstate NY. My grandfather was adored by the entire little community and he use to let me ride around in the local parades with him. We would be waiving away to everyone watching . It was a very simple carefree time. I love where I am now but it is so nice to have those lovely memories.
