The rain may have kept us from using the new tee pees, but it had no effect on the merriment of the party. We even picnicked on a blanket in the living room! There couldn't have been a nicer family or group of friends to celebrate the sibling's special day. Georgia was invited and I felt like I was part of the festivities--even in my apron.
The concept: Pedro and Maria's Mom wanted a birthday party luncheon that was gentle on the environment and good old fashion wholesome fun. We tried to avoid waste (no balloons or paper plates) and offer some healthy snacks (natural sandwiches, quiche, fruit and veggie wedges, whole wheat cookies....) while still enjoying enjoying some sugar and salty treats, too (cupcakes, truffles, brownies, cheesecake, mini burgers...). Balance, Indeed.
The kids went home with a gardening kit and a brown bag of cookies, tired and exhausted from all the play.
