I haven't been the best blogger this vacation. And I have barely touched a pot or pan. But my guilt got the best of me as I worried about wasting all those blueberries from the farmer's market.
So here is the recipe for the blueberry scones my mom and I baked.
They freeze well, too.
I'm feeling less guilty.
Tammy, dear, I'm glad you and little G are enjoying summer in the US. It's been sooooooo cold and cloudy hear (actually today the sun appeared). I MUST try this mouth watering scone recipe... just need to know if just "farinha de trigo " will do! Love, saudades e bjos pelo dia do amigo, Arlene.

ReplyDeletemiss you! not missing the cold....although we are roasting down here--above 40 C today. ufa!
here are some helpful hints:
to make cake flour: take 2 tablespoons of flour out of your one cup and replace with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch (maizena)...make sure you sift (peneira) 5 times or so to get it very fine...it does make a difference in getting things light and fluffy!
buttermilk help: put on tablespoon of lemon juice or white vinegar in a cup and then fill rest with milk. let sit for 5 minutes...
viola!
hope these tips help.
