New Balance - 284
Hired to do sweets for the opening of the shop 284 in conjunction with New Balance.
Motherhood (lack of sleep) and blonde hair got the best of me this time: Yes, I did put 248.
Redid in a mad rush, lollipops arrived just in time for the opening (but no time for new photos). The good news is that I heard there wasn't a sweet remaining after the party.

Amanda is 3!
Amanda turned three on Saturday! It was such and animated and busy party that I haven't the best photos to share...but here are some highlights:
1. I have a family business. I remember reading somewhere that a famous Italian chef grew up in a basket on the floor of his Mamma's kitchen. Sebastian fell asleep in his little chair under the prep table of an extremely agitated party kitchen while his sister reminded the guests that she helped put the chocolate on Amanda's cake and the rag dolls (we made) kept losing their ballet slippers.
2. I love parties where the guests eat!
3. Children love clowns on stilts who offer them bike rides!
4. Watching Amanda's curls shake while she danced the macarena with her Mom and her smile during the Spanish version of Happy Birthday....
Feliz Cumpleaños Amanda!

Kromakids
There are two things I am absolutely certain about: I have too many photos on my computer and I have an amazing friend who knows that I will never have the time to put them in book format. (And, of course, that I would really like to...)
Meet Karen. My friend. And the founder of Kromakids. The very best present a mom could ever give herself. And the best gift a child could add to the library. It is now Georgia's new bedtime favorite, "lets read the book about my birthday party."
Ready to read over and over, the book is so pretty. Plus you don't have to worry about your computer crashing and losing your precious moments.
Hire Karen for your next event. Her photos are great and you will never tire of pulling your book off the shelf.
Adorei Karen! Thank you!

Beatles in a Box
I cannot take credit for the idea. My client sent me a photo of what she wanted and I executed. She always has the best ideas! Beatles in a Box for Antero's birthday.
Happy Birthday Antero!

Early Sunday
Footie pajamas, sleep in their little swollen eyes, morning breath.... sibling snuggles that won't last forever.
Engraving the moment in my memory...how sweet it is.
Happy Birthday Felipe!
Another party at Manioca this weekend....this time for a real cutie named Felipe who celebrated country style--down on the farm with more than 600 farm animal cookies in sacks to take home and lots of hand sewn tractors, barns and animals.
Happy, happy 1st Birthday Felipe!

Milestones
Sebastian decided to sit this week. The pillow behind is "just in case." Because, really, he is quite firm...
Time is passing too fast. And Georgia had a playdate after school today. The first time all by herself, straight from school with her friend's Mommy. She was so proud. This morning when we packed her bag, she asked if Sebastian could come with her. I told her he was still a baby. To which she replied, "I am sure they will have a little chair there for him."
And when I asked her how he would nurse? "Maria Eduarda's Mommy could give him her milk!"

Finally...
Every week Georgia watches the planning and conception of party after party. She always knows the name and theme of the celebrant. She is interested and she is a good sport--especially considering she has yet to have a big bash of her own. In Portuguese there is the expression: "casa de ferreiro, espeto de pau"...in the house of a blacksmith you'll find a wooden stick i.e. shoemaker's son goes barefoot. Yes, I know.
So last week, my kitchen and craft room were finally devoted to Georgia's Hello Kitty (her choice) Birthday Party. My mother and aunt stepped off the plane and into an apron. And we all worked non-stop, inviting more people than our living room could hold and feeding the children more sweets than the dentist would ever allow. And we partied. (I found a brigadeiro in the plant this morning!) Face Painting. Puppet Shows. Mini Burgers. Salgados. Sandwiches. Kiddy Music. Three cakes....oh my.
A special thanks to the unbelievably talented Alice for the charming invitation and graphic touches. (I am looking forward to more collaborations.) And of course to everyone who helped my little girl not go barefoot anymore...
xoxo
